Samford Village is five minutes drive from The Valley House and has several excellent restaurants, coffee houses and take-aways. There is a local supermarket, newsagent, hairdressers, beauticians, video hire, bottle shops, bakery, patisserie and a health food shop.

The extensively restored Samford Hotel in Main Street offers great food and entertainment at very reasonable prices, and the Samford Homestead Restaurant offers good food in a beautiful setting with special themed evenings, or for that special coffee and cake visit Lily of the Valley.

For arts and crafts there is the Slab Hut in John Scott Park and opposite is Heart & Soul, full of beautiful gifts and felt-making workshops . On Sundays in Station Street the Samford and District Historical Museum is open from 10am to 4pm.

Or play the more formal but well-known Keperra Country Golf Club, just 15 minutes away. Dubbed ‘The Royal Keperra’ by the locals, this picturesque 27-hole layout tests the skills of golfers of all abilities.

Or visit the golf driving range or public golf course at Albany Creek, 15 minutes away, or the excellent courses at Nudgee or Virginia, which are about 25 minutes drive from The Valley House.
